El Economista interviews Javier Higuera and Alejandro Pérez, from HCP Architecture & Engineering

On the occasion of HCP’s appearance in the World Architecture 100 (WA100) 2024 ranking, which includes our architecture firm among the 100 most important in the world, El Economista, one of the most relevant and widely read economic newspapers in Spain, has interviewed Javier Higuera and Alejandro Pérez, founding partners of HCP.

Among the main topics covered in the interview are both our origins and our future objectives, highlighting details such as the growth of our workforce, the improvement of our technical capabilities and our global presence. In this way, our partners highlight the effort, commitment and teamwork necessary to build a 38-year track record and achieve the international recognition that comes with appearing on the WA100 list: “Focusing on residential architecture, putting the focus on the client and giving priority to the HCP brand, without personalities, we grew both in terms of project types and geographic scope”, remarks Alejandro Pérez.

Adapting to change has also been a fundamental factor in maintaining sustained growth over almost forty years: we currently have offices in Malaga, Madrid, Seville and Bahrain; we have a team of almost 100 professionals; and we have developed more than 3,000 projects in 34 countries. “Some of the most important projects we are developing are the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Seville, together with BIG; the Four Seasons and Angsana Real de la Quinta hotels (the latter, together with OBMI) in Marbella; residential developments such as Santa Clara or Evergreen; or high-profile urban development projects in Malaga such as La Térmica, Repsol or Rojas Santa Tecla“, says Javier Higuera for El Economista.
