Auditorium Abul Ela

Location: El Cairo (Egypt)
Area: 15,000 M2
Status: In development

Development of an auditorium, commercial area, and pedestrian bridge

The proposal integrates the city's historic splendour with its contemporary urban bustle, reusing the Abul Ela Bridge, one of Cairo's landmarks (built by Gustave Eiffel). The project takes the form of a river promenade divided into two arms, with different levels that open out, leaving an eye of water between them, and end with the auditorium, an iconic building with a spherical volume. The different levels of the bridge contain shops, bars and restaurants that expand into a landscaped promenade with water fountains and spaces for artistic, leisure and relaxation activities.
