The ASPRIMA – SIMA awards have announced the winners of the Special Awards of its 2024 edition and the finalists in the eleven categories of the competition, among which the HCP project “La Térmica” has been nominated for Best Urban Development.
“La Térmica” is a public-private partnership project between Malaga City Council and Nueva Marina Real Estate (the company created between the investment fund Ginkgo Advisor SARL -80%- and Inmobiliaria Espacio -20%-). One of its main characteristics is the creation of an area of new urban centrality on the west coast of Malaga, with a diversity of uses (housing, hotel, commercial and offices) that radiate activity by creating a new urban fabric with indoor and outdoor public spaces facing the sea.
The project involves the regeneration of this traditionally industrial part of the city. To this end, the project includes important elements such as the chimney of the old thermal power station, which is the main landmark of the landscape. Other important elements for the final configuration of the area are the extension of the Paseo Marítimo, the demolition of the San Sebastián electrical substation (proposing its transfer to a plot outside the sector) and the refurbishment of the La Térmica breakwater for public use.
From HCP we would like to thank the organisation of these Awards for considering “La Térmica” among the three best Urban Development projects. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the promoters of the project for the trust placed in our architectural firm to take responsibility for the reparcelling project, the Partial Plan and the urban development project; and we would like to thank our entire team in the Urban Planning department for the great work carried out.
The ASPRIMA – SIMA Awards, which this year celebrate their 21st edition, are the most important recognition for the real estate sector in Spain, so for HCP it is a great source of pride that our project is among the finalists. On May 23, in the context of the Madrid International Real Estate Exhibition (SIMA), we will find out if “La Térmica” is among the winners of these awards.
