HCP drives forward the urban transformation of El Pozuelo in Torremolinos

A strategic development for the growth of Torremolinos

The El Pozuelo urban development in Torremolinos has become one of the most significant urban developments in recent years on the Costa del Sol. After a long period of inactivity, this area is now making decisive progress thanks to collaboration between public administrations, developers and technical companies. In this context, HCP Architecture & Engineering has played a key role in the realisation of one of the sector’s main milestones: the new avenue that will connect the east and west of the municipality.

The recent institutional visit, attended by the Mayor of Torremolinos, the CEO of Kronos, representatives of the construction company Sando and Mario Romero, partner and technical director of HCP, provided an opportunity to see the progress of the works and the strategic importance of this new urban axis. For HCP, participating in this project is an opportunity to demonstrate how architecture and engineering can contribute to improving people’s lives and consolidating the coherent growth of cities.

A key avenue connecting the city, housing and services

The El Pozuelo development envisages the creation of more than 700 homes, including 202 subsidised homes (VPO), representing a necessary response to the growing demand for affordable housing in Torremolinos. The project also incorporates an extensive range of facilities: almost 75,000 m² of green spaces, educational, sports and social facilities; and more than 17,000 m² for new road infrastructure. This approach will provide the municipality with a more balanced, accessible and sustainable urban fabric.

Within this framework, the new avenue designed and managed by HCP becomes the backbone of the sector. This corridor not only improves the connection between previously unconnected urban areas, but also facilitates smoother and safer mobility, integrating contemporary criteria of sustainability and urban design. Its role as a central element will allow for the progressive development of new residential sectors and their proper integration with the established city.

HCP’s commitment to urban design and new residential developments

In addition to our involvement in road infrastructure, HCP has an active presence in El Pozuelo through the development of three residential projects that are currently underway. These include One Oak, the first phase of which is scheduled for completion in June 2026, and Kosmos, currently in the marketing process. These developments, together with a third project currently underway, reinforce our commitment to responsible urban planning, in which architectural quality, sustainability and user experience are fundamental pillars.

As a consultancy specialising in architecture and engineering, HCP approaches each project from a comprehensive perspective, combining technical rigour, creativity and a deep understanding of the territory. The El Pozuelo development is an example of how we apply these values to each phase of the process, from project conception to execution, and how we work in collaboration with developers, builders and administrations to ensure solid and lasting results.

This development represents a significant step forward for Torremolinos, a boost that consolidates the vision of a more connected, functional city focused on the well-being of its citizens. For HCP, being part of this process reaffirms our mission: to create architecture with principles and design solutions that positively transform the environment.
