As every year, HCP has participated in the special “Mundiarquitectos” of Metros2 magazine, in which the most relevant architecture studios at national level are interviewed. Jacobo Higuera, architect and Operations Director of HCP, has been the spokesperson for our studio on this occasion, highlighting the values that characterise us: “Innovation, sustainability, creativity and rigour are fundamental pillars for our development and we not only apply them to projects, with the aim of adding value to our clients, but also to the company”.
Precisely, our Operations Director emphasises investment in innovation as one of the main factors in enabling the growth and continuous improvement of our studio. As Jacobo Higuera comments in the interview, “our philosophy of client service has remained intact for almost forty years, but our methods are evolving“.
This evolution has led us to rely on tools such as artificial intelligence to enhance the rigour of our projects. “The investment in our R&D division has led us to expand our Computational Design department and to work with new technological tools that give us greater precision. The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, which we are developing together with the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), is a good example of this, as it will be one of the most sustainable and innovative buildings in the European Union“.
Energy efficiency and sustainability are two concepts closely linked to innovation, so Jacobo Higuera wanted to explain to Metros2 how we integrate them into our work. “We always seek to offer added value and therefore, together with our clients, we try to go beyond the requirements of the Technical Code, and we currently have 26 projects under development or recently delivered with international sustainability certifications such as BREEAM or LEED“.
Throughout the interview, Jacobo Higuera also talks about our design approach, the selection of materials and technology for our projects or our expectations for this year, so we recommend you to read it in full. You can do it in this link.
From the HCP blog we would like to take this opportunity to thank Metros2 magazine for featuring our architecture studio in their “Mundiarquitectos” special.
