This week, at HCP, we have combined two of our main concerns: innovation and training. Within our R&D department, we organize periodic training sessions to ensure our team is always up-to-date with trends and tools. On this occasion, our BIM Manager, Pablo Gancedo, has prepared a small course for the entire HCP team focused on how architecture firms can apply Artificial Intelligence to develop better projects.
Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing virtually all industrial sectors, and architecture is no exception. Therefore, our BIM manager wanted to start this internal training by helping us see it as a powerful ally: with its help, we can achieve more efficient and sustainable designs, and even more surprising ones!
However, although Artificial Intelligence can be defined as “a field of computer science that focuses on the development of systems and computer programs that can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence,” this does not mean it can create architectural projects (or any other type of work) autonomously. On the contrary, what this means is that an expert in their field needs to be trained to know how to get the most out of Artificial Intelligence tools.
This training or “coaching” is closely related to prompts, which are the commands or instructions we use to interact with Artificial Intelligence systems. Through prompts, we can ask these tools to perform a specific task, so the more precise we are when making a request, the more likely we are to succeed, as these tools understand us very literally.
As technology continues to advance, we will see even more amazing applications of Artificial Intelligence in Architecture, promising an exciting and transformative future for the field.
